What began as a personal passion for coastal exploration has grown into a dedicated service helping thousands of travellers experience South Africa's shorelines in ways they never imagined possible.

How We Started

In 2009, after spending years documenting routes and hidden viewpoints along the South African coast, we recognised that many travellers were missing the experiences that make these drives truly special. They drove the famous routes but missed the unmarked turnoffs leading to secluded beaches, the family restaurants serving the freshest catch, the timing that transforms an ordinary viewpoint into something extraordinary.

We started creating detailed itineraries for friends and family, incorporating everything from optimal departure times to specific parking spots with the best angles for photography. Word spread, and soon we were receiving requests from travellers across the country and beyond.

What Drives Us

Our coastline deserves to be experienced properly. Not rushed through on a checklist mentality, but savoured with the understanding that comes from local knowledge. We believe that a well-planned route transforms driving from mere transportation into an experience that stays with you long after you return home.

Each member of our team brings specific expertise. Some specialise in the dramatic Atlantic routes, understanding how the afternoon light falls on Chapman's Peak at different times of year. Others know the Garden Route so intimately they can recommend which bakery makes the best koeksisters in Wilderness and which guesthouse has rooms with the best lagoon views.

Our Approach

We factor in practical considerations that guidebooks often overlook. Road conditions change seasonally. Some mountain passes become treacherous in certain weather. Certain coastal towns transform during peak season while others remain tranquil year-round.

We avoid steering traffic to fragile ecosystems that cannot handle increased visitors. Where possible, we suggest alternatives to the most crowded spots, helping distribute tourism benefits more widely along the coast.
